The third edition of the Amman International Film Festival is scheduled for July this year, a month earlier than the August slot from the last two years. The festival is still working on establishing a firm foothold in the regional industry calendar, an ambition made more challenging by a summer schedule that works against securing Arab premieres for soughtafter film titles. Strengths include an industry section that is gradually shining a better focus on new film projects and a continuing commitment, developed with MAD Solutions for the inaugural event, to select Arab first timers across all filmmaking skill-sets in front and behind the camera.
