Mano’s secretly-shot first film, WHERE GOD SLEEPS, won the Cinema For Peace Award for Most Valuable Documentary of The Year at the 2017 Berlinale. The plight of Kurds is also central to his latest acclaimed film NEIGHBOURS, the story of a border village where Arabic, Kurdish and Jewish families find themselves pitted against each other but still manage to thwart authoritarian madness. Selected for Locarno last year, it has won dozens of festival prizes including one for Best Screenplay at the Red Sea International Film Festival.
