Founded in 2014 to help local talents to tell their personal history and document their collective memory, Hanna began empowering Palestinian youth in refugee camps in Jordan through film literacy and talent programmes. Building on this expertise, Filmlab: Palestine aims at expanding and cultivating cinema culture within Palestine, while providing the much-needed technical and artistic support for emerging Palestinian filmmaking voices. The Filmlab held its 8th Palestine Cinema Days festival in Ramallah in December, opening with the premiere of Syria-Palestine-Qatar-Germany co-production THE STRANGER, set in the Golan Heights, and continuing with 65 films from across MENA, Europe and the U.S.
