Already the most active producer in his country through his Abbout Productions outfit and its sister company Schortcut Films, Georges made history in 2021 as the first Lebanese producer ever to have separate films in the official selection of the three biggest European film festivals. Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige’s MEMORY BOX premiered in Berlinale; Ely Dagher’s THE SEA AHEAD premiered in Cannes; and Mounia Akl’s COSTA BRAVA, LEBANON premiered in Venice. Upcoming films include BEIRUT HOLD’EM, Michel Kammoun’s second feature which follows six months in the life of a middle-aged ex-con and petty gambler.
