One of the icons of Egyptian cinema with more than 80 titles to her name, her latest film THE ENSHRINED SAINT was the first theatrical feature film in Egypt to by-pass cinemas because of COVID and go straight to an online premiere via the SHAHID VIP streaming platforms. An ever present during the Ramadan season, her latest series in that holiday period, CIVIL WAR, enjoyed its customary success. Yousra has just finished shooting her new film THE NIGHT OF EID by Sameh Abdelaziz, whose film SCREAM OF AN ANT appeared in the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. She’s on the advisory board of El Gouna Film Festival and is a board member of the new Kemet Boutrous Ghali Foundation, an organization for Peace and Knowledge. She is also a member of the Academy of Arts and Sciences and the European Academy Awards. Her duo with Abo, 3 Daqat, that became the anthem for the 2017 El Gouna Film Festival is still scoring record numbers on YouTube with 650 million hits and counting as of the end of June 2021. There are now even versions of the song in Korean, French and Italian.
