One of the two most attractive Arab countries in terms of attracting international film and TV
productions, Jordan has the RFC to thank for instilling confidence in the country’s ability to
handle films such as Disney’s ALADDIN and Netflix’s JINN. RFC is now under the oversight of
Princess Rym and new managing director Mohannad who worked in RFC before and arrives with both
filmmaking experience and connections. Even in the midst of COVID, RFC facilitated several
international production shoots in Jordan including two Asian TV series, lured in part by a 25%
cash rebate. The building of a competitive studio in Jordan, a dream of King Abdullah, finally
looks a reality now that funding and land on the outskirts of Amman have been secured. Mohannad
has said that the first phase will likely have three soundstages.
