Still the largest pay-TV network in the Arab world, Orbit Showtime Network (OSN) last year
doubled down on its streaming business as it looked to fend off the likes of Netflix. Its
streaming app Wavo was rebranded as OSN Streaming, which was given an added subscription boost
through a partnership with Disney+ to add to its existing supply lines from other major channels
and studios including NBC Universal, Paramount, MGM and HBO (making it the Arab home of GAME OF
THRONES). Starting in 2020, OSN began venturing into original content, producing films such as
Syrian war drama NO MAN’S LAND in partnership with Fremantle and the Amir Ramses-directed
Egyptian film CURFEW that premiered at Cairo’s film festival.
