Najwa’s third film BETWEEN HEAVEN AND EARTH won the Best Script award at the 2019 edition of the Cairo International Film Festival before going to dozens of festivals around the world. For her next project, she has announced she is working on KISS OF A STRANGER, an Egyptian musical period drama set in 1930s Alexandria that is based on an original screenplay she wrote during lockdown. Her film will take a fun and exciting look at the birth of the Egyptian film industry, using the power of music, dance and cinema. Najwa is a member of the Academy of Arts and Sciences and the European Academy Awards.
