Earlier this year, Kaouther’s internationally co-produced drama THE MAN WHO SOLD HIS SKIN became the first ever Tunisian film to land an Oscar nomination in the international film category. An art satire about the world’s most expensive tattoo, the film first premiered in Venice 2020 in the Horizons sector and went on to win the Best Actor prize for Yahya Mahayni. Kaouther also won the best Arab film award at El Gouna Film Festival. At this year’s Cannes Film Festival, she was the invited to be on the jury for the short films and Cinéfondation film school competition. Her previous film, BEAUTY AND THE DOGS, premiered at Cannes in Un Certain Regard in 2017.
