After halting production twice in Nazareth and Bethlehem because of COVID-19 protocols, Hany finally completed his pan Arab co-production feature HUDA'S SALON which stars Ali Suliman and Maisa Abd Elhadi. Based on real-life events, the film tells the story of a woman whose visit to a hair salon turns into a nightmare when its owner blackmails her. Two of Hany’s Arab films have received Oscar nominations: 2005’S PARADISE NOW and 2013’s OMAR. His reputation was such that 20th Century Fox came calling when they wanted a director who could mix elements of survival and romance for its adaptation of THE MOUNTAIN BETWEEN US staring Idris Elba and Kate Winslet.
