Annemarie served on the Berlinale’s International Jury and Torino Feature Lab Jury in 2020 and her film project A GENERAL THEORY OF OBLIVION won the top prize at the Berlinale Co-Production Market. The Gaza-set drama is based on José Eduardo Agualusa’s novel although the book’s story has been moved from Angola to Palestine during the First Intifada. Her first TV series project MORNINGS IN JENIN has secured a grant from the Doha Film Institute. Her last feature, WAJIB, created an international stir since premiering in Locarno’s main competition 2017 and won three awards. Sold to Amazon in the US, WAJIB got three wins in the ACC’s Critics Awards for Arab Films 2018; Best Film, Best Actor and Best Screenplay awards.
