The prestigious Cairo International Women's Film Festival started back in 2008. The festival is all about films made by women from all over the world. The festival also promotes the female filmmakers' perspectives through their works. The sections for this festival change every edition with one fixed section called “Caravan”. Each year, the festival celebrates an influential female filmmaker by showcasing her movies in film screenings that are followed by Q&A sessions and panel discussions.
