Fantasia International Film Festival aims to bring together emerging and established filmmakers from around the world in a festive environment where films from all genres are celebrated. Fantasia offers a diverse of awards and includes a number of competitions, like the Cheval Noir Award where prizes are granted for Best Film, Director, Screenplay, Actor, Actress and a Special Mention as well. It also offers New Flesh Award for Debut Films, International Short Film Competition, Satoshi Kon Award for Excellence in Animation, the Action Award and the Audience Award.
