ARAB FUND FOR ARTS AND CULTURE (AFAC) | LEBANON
TWELVE-MONTH HIGHLIGHT(S):
Five female Arab producers and directors (from Morocco, Lebanon and Tunisia) have received a total of $250,000 from Netflix and the AFAC in an initiative aimed at strengthening the pipeline of Arab women behind the camera. AFAC's cinema program continued to provide annual grants of more than $115,000 for supporting films in all kinds, and all production phases.

CAREER HIGHLIGHT(S):
Rima joined the AFAC in 2011 as the Film Programmes Manager and in 2015 was appointed Deputy Director. Before this, she had participated in several festivals as a jury member or as a member of the selection committee, contributed to serious critical writings on Arab cinema, moderated panels and wrote for several regional media. She also wrote and researched a number of feature documentaries.
