Abbout Productions latest film is BEIRUT HOLD ’EM by Lebanese writer and director Michel Kammoun that premiered at the second edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival. Conceived in the pre-Covid era, its production was interrupted by the pandemic and the crises that have hit Lebanon since late 2019. Last year, Schoucair was selected for Variety's list of the 500 most influential business leaders shaping the global media industry in 2022.

Schoucair founded Abbout Production in 2003 to develop and produce films that travel globally and to theatrically distribute Arab and international arthouse titles. Abbout Productions also encompasses the internationally-geared Shortcut Films, a co-producer of recent Berlin fest Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize winner FELICITÉ by French-Senegalese director Alain Gomis, as well as the ambitious epic ZAMA by Argentinian director Lucrecia Martel.The company’s past prizewinners include both A PERFECT DAY and THE LEBANESE ROCKET SOCIETY.
