Well known for his work in France, where he has been active since 1991 and appeared in films such as DAYS OF
GLORY and OUTSIDE THE LAW, Sami made his triumphant Arab cinema comeback with the Tunisian film A SON.
Premiering in the Horizons section of the Venice Film Festival, the film won Sami both the Best Actor prize
in that sidebar as well as this year’s Cesar for Best Actor (adding to the Cesar he already won in 2008 for
his supporting role in André Téchiné’s THE WITNESSES). He will next be seen in DEUX MARIAGES ET UNE
RÉVOLUTION a feature written and directed by Tunisian filmmaker Ibrahim Letaïef, as well as a modern-day
retelling of the Emile Zola novel GERMINALE as a French-language TV series.
