Telfaz11 had a banner year thanks to the freestyle wrestling comedy SATTAR, which had a record-breaking run in Saudi cinemas to become the second highest-grossing film in 2023,
with nearly $11m. Telfaz11 also had its first significant international festival splash, with two features in the TIFF — Meshal Al Jaser desert-set horror NAGA and Ali Kalthami’s MANDOOB.
