Aiming at linking the professionals and amateurs screenwriters together to emphasize the importance of the screenplay in the filmmaking process, Austin Film Festival provides an essential year-round program full of cultural events and services. The festival is open to narrative, animation and documentary features and shorts. Films and other projects can compete in the various competitions the festival presents, including the Film Competition, Digital Series Competition, Playwriting Competition, Fiction Podcast Script Competition, Young Filmmakers Competition and Pitch Competition.
