DIRECTOR, WRITER, PRODUCER & CINEMATOGRAPHER
Born in Dubai, Mahdi is a Danish-Palestinian filmmaker living in Lebanon who has made films about Palestinian refugees living in exile without ever having set foot yet in the country of his heritage. As such he is the perfect emblem of contempory Arab existence. One of the few Arab directors still making both shorts and features, his work has been in heavy rotation on the international festival circuit. His recent BAFTA-nominated short A DROWNING MAN was distributed by MAD Solutions in the Arab world and handled internationally by Salaud Morisset.
