CAREER HIGHLIGHT(S):
Kaouther’s 2017 breakthrough, BEAUTY AND THE DOGS, played in the Cannes’ Un Certain Regard section and was selected as the Tunisian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 91st Academy Awards. Her internationally co-produced drama THE MAN WHO SOLD HIS SKIN premiered at the Venice Film Festival 2020, where it won the Best Actor Award, and was nominated for an Oscar for Best International Feature at the 93rd Academy Awards.

TWELVE-MONTH HIGHLIGHT(S):
Kaouther Ben Hania’s latest film FOUR DAUGHTERS has been selected for the Main Competition at this year’s 2023 Cannes Film Festival, where last year she chaired the Cannes Critics’ Week jury. Her new film mixes documentary and fiction to tell the real-life story of a mother (played by superstar Hend Sabry) dealing with the disappearance of her two eldest daughters. Kaouther recently directed an episode of the Netflix series LOVE, LIFE & EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN, which is a pan-Arab anthology series tinged with dark humor that explores love at large and relationships up close
