The biggest cinema chain in the Arab world with more than 600 screens, including some 150 across 15 locations in Saudi Arabia, Vox announced plans during the inaugural Red Sea Film Festival in December to produce 25 Arab-language films in the next 5 years with budgets ranging of $1-$10 million apiece. The focus of this latest local production push will be on Saudi films. In its home market of UAE, the Government announced in December that it was ending its policy of censoring international films by introducing a new 21+ rating that designates content as being for mature audiences.
