Managing Director of Media, Entertainment, Culture & Fashion, NEOM
Given the strictures facing international media companies doing business in KSA, they may be more inclined
to set up shop in NEOM, a Red Sea enclave the size of Belgium that is being established as a semi-autonomous
tech-driven free zone that will be policed by its own, far more liberal, laws. Wayne told Wired Middle East
that a major feature film has already signed up to shoot in this purpose-built mega-city zone. While details
are not being disclosed, it is seen as just the first of many film projects for NEOM’s fledgling
entertainment hub whose proximity to the region’s greatest most populous country (Egypt) and also one of its
most scenic (Jordan) opens the door to greater regional collaborations.
