Ahmed’s latest script, FEATHERS, which was directed by Omar Zohairy, was selected for this year’s Cannes International Critics Week—the first time an Egyptian feature film has appeared in that competitive sidebar. His project HAMLET FROM THE SLUMS (directed by Ahmed Fawzi-Saleh), won four awards in the 4th edition of CineGouna SpringBoard 2020, in addition to a sponsorship by IEFTA, and was recently selected at the Durban FilmMart’s Finance Forum 2021. His previous writing credits include WINTER OF DISCONTENT, (Venice Horizons 2013,) and ALI, THE GOAT AND IBRAHIM which premiered at Dubai Film Festival 2016 and had a wide theatrical release in France.
